Problem while installing 366 spring
 

Well,
Thought everything was going good. Got it almost all back together. Went to drop the fuel pin in the afc housing, and it stopped. Looked down and the pin that rides on the curve of the fuel pin is sticking out. Carefully tried to push it back in, but it springs right back out stopping the pin from dropping in. Any ideas? Thanks

Well, i can't see how the pick can fit in there while I drop the pin in. As soon as I let off of the pin it spring right back out. Wondering if I have the throttle shaft wrong or something. My marks are lined back up right.

The throttle shaft might be backwards but thats weird that the pin pops back out all by tiself. I usually push it in with a screwdriver and its good to go

make sure you have the throttle indexed correct. Also make sure you are not opening teh throttle while you are messing with it. If all else fails pull it a apart and try again. The second time is always faster.

Well, I finally got it to where just the tip of the pin where it was beveled was hanging out. I dropped it in and just barely put some for force on it and it dropped in. I took a picture of where it was indexed before and after and they were the same. Got it all together and the idle set. I added a new m3 fuel pin too, and the old thing is woken up. :jump: I drove it about 20 miles and lots of pedal mashing, and there is no fuel coming out of the afc housing vent.

just for future reference you can hold the accelerator at max position and it will relieve the pressure from the plate holding the pin

Crazy, i looked at a breakdown of the pump and didn't see where a plate would have held that pin out. I think possibly i racked the throttle causing the problem. I'll keep an eye out in the future. I hope it doesn't happen again, and haven't pulled the pin again since I got it in.
