pump still leaking

i put a denny t pin in an the pump leaked so i had it rebuilt, it stopped leaking for awhile, it started to leak again. i took it back , they "fixed" it and now its leaking again. what the hell is the problem? :argh:

What area is it leaking from?

Randall 04-30-2010 12:45 PM

AFC housing where fuel pin goes and around the the linkage

Where?

Attachment 47661

where the top of the pump bolts on , somewhere in that area, an its filling up the area where the fuel pin goes.

Is it leaking so bad that its coming out the little rubber overflow? Any time you put in the aftermarket pins they say it makes it leak. It is caused by the deal around the small pin that rides on the fuel pin.:hellox:

Randall 05-05-2010 05:49 AM

i think i also turned my starwheel too far, its all the way down . . .

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

yeah it squirts out the little rubber nipple thing

pewder 05-05-2010 11:29 AM

Yeah that would cause your fuel pin to go down fast and so that little pin would be on the deepest part of the pin more of the time and could be your problem.

So what you one of the guys that only tune your truck to roll-the-coal rather than performance.

Randall 05-05-2010 07:22 PM

:tu: sadly yes hahaha, but im only 22 and i got a heavy foot, but im learning quick, i backed off the starwheel, and i lightened my foot some,. . .ive only had the truck for a year so im still playing

pewder 05-05-2010 11:59 PM

Well all that black cloud is just unburnt fuel that your waisting. I hope you have a set of the proper gauges in that rig if your pushin a lot of coal.

Randall 05-07-2010 09:51 AM

no gauges. . . but its an auto tranny so it kicks down pretty quick with very little "lugging". but anyway i backed off the starwheel to stock position an put a new plastic/nylon washer under the fuel pin and it stopped the leak. i actually gained a better throttle response thru out the whole rpm range.

pewder 05-07-2010 11:33 AM

There is such a thing as to much. It pays off the tune it and usually to get the tune means getting rid of that smoke.

Randall 05-08-2010 10:54 AM

yeah i got less smoke but more power so im done messing with the pump, now im looking for injectors, just not sure what horse to go with, but like u said i need gauges so thats next on the list. does any one make a gauge pod for the first gen's?

pewder 05-08-2010 12:05 PM

If you want more than two on the pillar you have to custom make it by moding two of them together. Or get a universal dash pod but all it will hold it 3.
