smoke

i have already decided my truck smokes too much and id like to slow it down a little bit

my question is, if i adjust the smoke screw down to i make less smoke, am i also going to lose power? or is there better ways not to have smoke

an hx40 is only a 60mm a 62 or 64 is in order

Smoke screw will most likely make absolutely no difference at all when you have aftermarket injectors and a turned-up fuel screw.

Drive slower.

even when i do drive slow theres smoke there no stoppin it. i havent even turned up the fuel screw at all i havent touched it since it came back from the injection shop. my hx40 spools pretty good.

i want to run twins but i dont have room to move my downpipe its as tight as it can get already

Is it low boost smoke? Is the turbo cleaning it up?

First run your smoke screw up as high as you can, then run the star wheel up some. Neither of these will effect over all power. In my truck they helped spool up greatly. What kind of timing are you running with your new injectors? More timing might be in order.

im running about 1/8" or so. i cant really go any farther no matter how hard i try and move it it is binded by the injector line. i just finished sealing up a couple gaskets and im going to drive it right now. ill check back in to see how the smoke is working

Put a strap around it and to the fender... Look up Crossy's Son's video. I even helped mine with a rubber mallet.

tltruckparts 02-10-2010 05:03 PM

i did that with a ratcheting strap. how far do you think i should go in advance?

and i drove it. when i get on even about half throttle it smokes like crazy from about 1500-2000 rpms. and it clears up when i hit 25+ pounds of boost. but it doesnt go all the way away. people behind me cant even see where theyre driving. should i still screw with the starwheel and smoke screw?
