92 12v need valve adjustment specs.

Our 92 dodge has leaking valve cover gaskets and since it has at least 400k miles without valve adjustment and I have to pull the covers to replace the gaskets it seems like a good time to adjust them. I like this Cummins a lot.

I guess with at least 400k since we got it you might say it is a little overdue.

When I first got our 91.5 it had a lope to it. The valves were WAY out. Adjusted the valves and the lope went away. We set all the Cummins trucks to .010" and .018"

Ours starts perfect and runs great. also gets good fuel economy but since I have to pull the covers anyway it is a good time for adjustment. Thanks a lot for the info guys.

Got the valves adjusted and new cover gaskets to stop the oil leaks. After over 400000 miles without an adjustment they were only .003 inches loose. The longer we keep this truck the more I like the Cummins.
