More A518 questions?

Can a non lock up A518 be converted to lock up converter by using the input shaft out of a 47RH or 47RE?

You'll also need the input shaft support which contains the necessary hydraulic circuitry as well as the 47RH valve-body as it has the control plumbing for the lock-up.

But then, if you're doing that, you'd do well to go ahead and grab the better and stronger planetary assembles while you're at it. but then, if you're getting these from a used 47RH, you'd just as well go ahead and rebuild the 47RH and use it huh? :pca1:

There are gas versions of the A518 with a lock-up converter, I think it's called the A618. It unfortunately runs a little lighter meat here and there as well as the main governor is not set up for the low rpm shift-points the diesel needs.
