Turbo rebuild
As long as a turbo has no damage to it when it went out, can an average joe get a rebuild kit and do the rebuild it themself? :humm:
|
I've never taken the center section apart, but it doesn't seem to overwhelming. You can get a rebuild kit for around 100 bucks. What kind of turbo? Here is a link for a great write-up on a rebuild of an hx35, so you know what's involved.:c:

here are the Holset Manuals for all teh turbos, download the H1C.

I have an h1c :nope:but was lookin at a hy35 that needed rebuilt. Want to upgrade from the h1c but mine has some slop in it, so either way I would have to rebuild one. On a budget so lookin at my options.:humm:
Thank you for the links guys!:tu: |
Then download the hy35 manual from the link...

one of my friends rebuilt a HX35 on his 24v, his works just fine, and he's kinda slow so if he can do it anyone can
|
So would it be smarter to get an hX35 or upgrade the housing and compressor wheel on the H1C?
|
What are your end goals for the truck?

Want some good power but not so crazy that I'm killin fuel mileage. Wont be hauling a lot very often, but I know I will be hauling some here and there it never fails that you get your self into a situation when ya have a diesel that will pull anything. ha ha
