Check Engine Light Trouble Codes For 92-93 1st Gens
When your "Check Engine" light comes on in your 92-93 truck, you can get the trouble codes of it yourself by using your ignition. Simply turn the key (without starting the truck) "on, off, on, off, on" and leave it in the on position. The codes will be displayed by the check engine light blinking. The light blinks out the first digit of the code, stops for a second, then blinks out the next digit, all the codes only have 2 digits. If the code in your truck was say code number 15, it would be displayed as one blink, a pause, then 5 blinks. If there is another code that one would be displayed after the 1st. When all the codes have been displayed code number 55 will come up. This code means all the codes have been read.

I just went outside and tried that and it didn't work. My check engine light is on most of the time along with the wait to start. Randomly, the starter relay on the fender starts chattering and the engine & wait lights flash on and off at the same time. What are your thoughts?

Mine was doing the same thing until I changed the pcm.I am not saying that is your problem but it may be worth checking it to make sure its working properly.I took mine to an auto parts store they sent it out and tested it found out it was bad.Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in and help.Good luck.

Thank you. I guess I need to change my name to Earl and post a photo of a fat sweaty guy in a Ram with STACKS and truck nuts and ringside tickets to WWF.
I think you're right about the PCM because there is also an issue with my A/C clutch: sometimes it won't engage. I'll have it looked at tomorrow. |
all the problems you have were identical to mine.
whats this mean:Thank you. I guess I need to change my name to Earl and post a photo of a fat sweaty guy in a Ram with STACKS and truck nuts and ringside tickets to WWF |
I've been using this site for a couple of months to help me when I have problems with my truck. I guess I just never noticed how mean the people are in here.
