CD player
ok fellas im lookin for a deck for my truck. maybe for christmas:w2:. I have XM stallite radio and id like to be able to play cd's. Anyone got a set up like this in their truck? I don't even know where to look so id like to hear ya'lls input. thanks:tu:

I've had real good luck with Pioneer. Granted they aren't the best for a 3 mega watt sound system, but for a stock/sub par aftermarket speakers, they put out the sound. :tu:
You can get all teh adaptors you need at your local auto parts place or even Wal-Mart. I also like Pioneer's stuff.
i have had a kenwood deck for years. dust dirt spills on it and played thousands of cds through it and have had no problems with it. and kenwoods have a high mid and low some others dont:tu:
do they sell the adapters so i can just plug the deck in or will i have to splice all the wires into the deck?
They have adaptors that are plug and play.
can i get them at walmart?:jump::jump::jump:
They should carry them. Only way to find out is call or pay em a visit.
oh halalough ya!:tu:

ya napa sells the adapter plate to convert the HUGE dodge radio into white mans size for like 15.00 and it looks real clean
and yes wallmart sells them oh get an alpine head unit with 2 J/L 12's and 2 infinity 6x9's and 2 tweeters with 1700 amps sounds good |
I'm a fan of Alpine decks. Simple to master all of the features. In my experience Alpine makes stock speakers sound somewhat decent too.
this is true
Ya new speakers and amp arn't really in the budjet at this time ha ha. I just need somethin to play CD's and my XM radio. Looks kinda crappy havin my XM reciever just sitting in my little ash box thingy.
i just put a new kenwood deck, xm docking station, and speakers in mine, fairly simple and the deck i picked up also has an aux port in the front to plug my ipod into. if you arent in a hurry check out crutchfield.com . when you buy through them you give you any and all of the adapters and pigtails to make your install that much easier and also provide free telephone support.
Yeah, hit up crutchfield. They'll include all the adapters for the truck (including mounting adapter) for free. I'd stick to either Alpine 1st, then Pioneer second. I have both right now, and feature for feature, I'd say the Alpine is stronger.
When I get a new deck, I'm going to skip CD altogether. The new Alpines with ipod control are slick...Album art up front, good navigation, and because they lack all the CD internals, they really aren't very expensive. Do they even make CDs anymore? ;) |
does anyone have a picture of the radio plug.Ive got a 85 prospector and my plug is non existent(ive searched).Never had a radio since ive had it.Ive got nice mid infinity speakers in the dash, and some in the doors.I need to know if i need to make my own harness or what.Am i missing something.I have the old radio that was in the back of the cab when i got it,but that has like a 6 pin plug that i dont see.
