Adding Boost?
 
hey all,

when some of u guys that have coolertubz put them on did it add boost presure at all, and where did ur egts stand.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but have you actually thought about your question?

Boost is a measure of restriction. Coolertubz create better flow, so there is less restriction, so with all else being equal, you will have less boost, but more flow. Make sense? Of course, if you had leaky I/C tubes before and you replace them, the boost may be up after the install, but it would have nothing to do with the Coolertubz.

I am running Tim Worlines Cooler Tubz and yes I did see a drop in boost. EGTs are also lower. I usually go over to Meridian ID for their late spring dyno event this requires a run up Cabbage Hill. Cabbage Hill is a good chance to raise your EGTs. I am also running a Snow stage III controller - the original analog one. I wanted to see how it would control EGTs as related to those hill pulls. Try as I might I could not get EGTs over 950 so the controller would not add W/M - it didn't need to. I feel to build more boost with Tims Cooler Tubz I will need change turbos to move more air. Right now I see a max of 36 psi of boost while before I would see 38 psi. Those are dyno numbers. EGTs on the dyno run a max of 1250 while before the addition of the Coller Tubz they ran at 1400.

yea see i don't want to sound dumb but i didn't know boost was a measure of restriction. I understand now.
