new fuel system questions.

hey all,

alright so i know i'm in need of a new fuel system and i already have a 2nd gen lift pump. i was needing some ideas on how to make it.

i know i'll need a fuel regulator and a spacer for the pump, and i was thinking either 3/8 or 1/2'' fuel line.

any pics or input would be great.

hey going through the same thing muskrat sent this link to me http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d....html?t=151190
its a great write up on one guys supply system

alright thanks for the input.

not a problem my man, i'm like 90 percent sure that my pump is shot cuz i didn't upgrade my supply system and i don't want someone else make the same mistake

The 2nd gen LP supplies too much pressure for the VE to take. You have to regulate it's pressure to something like 15 psi.

I have a low pressure LP from a combine in my truck, so I do not need a regulator. The 2nd gen LP supports more power, but I'm not shooting for too much..

i have a 24v ddrp fass on my truck it work ok i lose fuel psi a little before half throttle, so i think i'm either gonna go with an air dog or an areomotive fuel pump and upgrade to 3/8 fuel line from the tank back, and put a straw in the tank....think it should help keep mine fed, every thing is kinda pricy thoe, so if you want to go semi cheap i'd just get the 24v ddrp fass, it worked great till i really started to crank my pump

DieselPerformanceGuy 11-06-2009 10:48 PM

ya thats what i think i'm gonna get is the air dog, i gues i don't feel like searching around for all the parts and all that stuff so i thought i would just go with the air dog instead, no offense and congrats to the guys that made the 2nd gen pumps fit.

if you get an air dog make sure its for a vp setup so yhe pressures are the same
