Rear end clunking

My 93" w 250 makes a clunking noise that is coming from the rear end when I go down hill around sharp paved corners only. If I am on the throttle or going up hill around a corner its quiet. And it only does it loaded with weight. I have not had the truck long enough to know much about it, my question is, could there be some kind of locker or something in the rear end that is not dissengaging or was that ever a factory option in 93" the truck has every bell and whistle dodge ever put on a truck, so it makes me wonder. Or is my rear end just going out. Nothing on the housing ever gets hot, not even when I have hauled 3000 pounds for two hours on steep mountain roads.

I had a girlfriend like that one....hadta trade er in on a different model

seriously this is most likely the ring and pinnion or carrier bearings.................but dont rule out the possibility of a rear driveline U-joint

Sounds like you have a locker to me. Jack up the rear end, put it in neutral and turn one of the wheels. If you turn the wheel forward and the other wheel turns in the opposite direction, you have an open diff.:U:
