M2 fuel pin update
First of all I would like to thank M+H and this site for the free fuel pin.
Here is what I found. My truck has the following mods. 6x16 injectors, H1C with a 16 cm exhaust and 60mm GDS upgrade, star wheel way up from stock ( to help with low boost smoke ), fuel pin turned to deepest, fuel screw 2 full turns out from bottom, piston lift pump. At those settings I maxed out at 43 to 44 psi in 5th gear wide open. I put the pin in and changed nothing else. I saw a peek psi of about 49 to 50 psi. So I can basically say the pin gave me about 6 psi. My plans are to turn my fuel screw so my max boost is back to 42 psi ( as I still have a stock head gasket ). That should get rid of some more of my low boost smoke as well as give me around 30 psi at max throttle with valet in tow mode. :rocking: |
AWESOME!!! Glad you got it for teh dyno day!
Did the old set the pants dyno net you any gains? Does teh power come on sooner over the stocker? |
Well bobby, I saw the gauge go to 50 psi and I let off. I did that once and will now turn the fuel screw down to get back to 42 or so. I do not want to pop the head gasket.:ok1:
It had to give me more power as the boost was up.:U: |
HG's are easy to replace! :D

Well today I got to play with the fuel screw. As I said above I was happy with the boost I had with the stock pin, 42 to 44 psi , but was unhappy with the bottom end. I took 1 full turn out of the fuel screw and went for a ride. At wide open in 5th the boost was back down to 44 psi, perfect:U: I also hoped that when I took the full turn out it would help my haze issue. ( pretty hazzy all times at speed and idle ). It took about 75 percent of the haze and low boost smoke. It does take a little longer to spool the turbo until the afc ( pin ) drops into the deep side then its game on. As soon as I get my valet set up ( still need to buy ) I will be able to tow with the ole girl with out watching the egt's so close. So in conclusion, the M2 pin did what I wanted.
1 Keep my boost at 44 psi while at the same time take 1 turn off the fuel screw. 2 Took away lots of low boost smoke and haze. ( because I was able to take out the turn ) 3 Will work great with a valet. So in my case I used it as a tunning feature to help make my 6x16's more streetable.:yeah: |
Hell yeah!!!
Not to hyjack but I pushed teh pump to teh head today and it took away my haze with teh 6x16's... Just a thought... :w2: |
