wheel/tire combo's & leveling on 2WD 1ton SRW??

Do any of you guys have any ideas about wheel and tire combos that would fit under an '89 2WD 1 ton SRW? I'd like to throw some 16x10's all the way around but I'm worried I wont have room for them up front. I've seen tons of 4x4's with a pretty wide shoes on 'em that look amazing... but you hardly ever see any 2WD's like that... There's some awesome looking black cragar's and US wheel's that would look great on it, but without lifting the front a little bit I probably wouldnt be able to turn around in a 40 acre field!!! This leads me to my next question... has anyone tried leveling a 2WD? There's a local spring shop in my town that can make springs in basically any size you want. So rather than buying spring spacers, my thinking is why not have them use a stiffer spring stock, bend it with a larger spacing, and make it 2-4" longer? But I'm worried that if I go up too high I'd ruin the ability to have the front end realigned. I know the reg cab 2WD's aren't the most desirable version of the 1st gens, but it's what I have and I'm trying to make the most of it! Any suggestions/ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks guys!

haha! I've heard of people doing the 2WD to 4WD swap... but thats a lot more work than I want to take on. Racing just got over and my girl would have a fit if i took on another project that kept me out in the shop everyday! I'm sure you can relate.....I've read one article in the archives about leveling a 2WD, but all they did was take a smoke wrench and stretch the springs. You could hardly tell it was raised any at all in the before an after pics, which makes me wonder just how far you can take 'em.
