wierd boost numbers

hey guys,

ever since i put my gauges in my boost pressure has always been wierd. I mean sometimes it will be 28 psi and others it will be 32 psi under the same conditions. Am i just not checking my boost right or ist my gauge messed up.:madd:

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

p.s.
it's never been dynoed but i'm guestimating that it's putting out about 300-325 hp
the tranny's stock.

there is also an 89 dodge 2 wheel drive on diesel power mag called project rust bucket. i have almost the same performance parts than them but there are a few(like 2) that i don't have and there boost pressure is in the high 30's low 40's. :humm:

Rustbucket also runs nitrous, which is why their boost is probably higher than yours. He also has an 18.5cm housing, while your truck being a '92, most likely has a 21cm housing.

The first thing I would do is test the gauge to make sure that isn't the problem.

When you are seeing less boost, does it feel like the truck has less power as well? I would plan on tranny work soon as well. If you have 300rwhp with a stock tranny (I doubt you do) it is robbing a whole lot of horsepower, and making a lot of heat.

ok thanks, i put a 16 cm housing on my truck and like i said it has never been dynoed but by the parts i put on i was just guestimating and thanks for the help i will start planning on what i should do for my tranny rebuild.
prb said they gained 4 psi of boost just from a new canvertor and rebuilt trany
