What does the product do over stock? Whats it help?

Thanks

Keep's up with your fuel supply demands. I bet if you put a fuel pressure gauge on your truck you would see that the old dyaphram pump is struggling to keep up. The AirDog flows enough fuel to keep the inlet pressure at the IP at 15psi. This helps keep the IP from working to hard and heating up by trying to pull more fuel then teh stok Lift Pump can supply. Also teh VE pump uses inlet pressure to advance the timing and when you drag your pressures down close to 0 you lose your timing causing teh truck to perform worse. Will you see a dramatic increase in power by adding it. Probably not although you might feel it pul la little bit harder up top. But it WILL help your truck live a little longer and help you get teh most out of all your other fueling mods (like injectors)

Thanks for the great info!! That help me alot in understanding the purpose and reason for installing the product. Well I guess I should add that to my list of stuff as my truck just turned 350,000 today.

RSWORDS 07-02-2009 07:01 PM

I might actually think of getting that before teh injectors. With teh stock lift pump you might not really get every thing out of those injectors with out a good fuel system

What would be the part number fro the VE pump 1st gen? They run about what $600-$700?

RSWORDS 07-02-2009 07:24 PM

Hell no! The airdogs are alot less then that! You want the kit for a 24v truck. the pressures will be right. Ask the vendors, I know a couple of guys have some smoking deals on them.

Bad93Cummins 07-02-2009 07:25 PM

Alrighty thanks.

Why would I want one for a 24v truck?

RSWORDS 07-02-2009 07:54 PM

The airdog has a pressure regulator in it. They dont make a kit for 1st gens but the kit for the 24v uses the pressures we need. Should be 14psi and all the fittings should work also.
