has anyone had the chance to use or make their own injector tips.
I want to try and find the best tips for certain application. test subject: 1993 dually 2x4 stock turbo inter cooled rotary pump propane injection injectors? i can make my own tips, just need size of whole and how many. I'm trying to make an injector thats like a sleeper. I just want to start somewhere then have to keep using my buddy's dyno (COST OF FUEL) |
How do you plan on making your holes?

laser cut.

Cool.
Here are the sizes of the most common injectors. |
There is a whole lot to it other then just cutting holes. Spray pattern and angle play alomst as big a role in power as the hole size. That is why POD's are so smokey and run so damn hot for there size.
And I think this is what Begle was looking for. stock 1st gen inj - 6x.009" = .000380" total cross sectional area 2nd gen 215 tips - 4x010 = .000314(17% smaller than stock) non ic inj - 4x12 = .000452 (19% larger than ic inj) 185's = smaller than stock 190's = smaller than stock 230's = ? 300's = ? ddp stg III = 50 LPM (liter per minute) 5 hole extrude hone inj 330's - 5x11 = .000474 (20% larger than stock) 2nd gen 370's - 5x12 = .000565 (48% larger than stock) ddp stg IV = 55 LPM (only 10% larger than stg III's) 5 holes <.013 pods - 4x14 = .000615 (62% larger than stock) 2nd gen 435's - 5x014 = .000769 (twice as large as stock) custom injectors - 6x13 = .000795 5x15 = .000882 6x14 = .000923 5x16 = .001005 6x15 = .001059 5x17 = .001134 (300% larger than stock) 6x16 = .001206 - Seem to be the hot ticket for single turbo VE engines 5x18 = .001272 6x17 = .001360 5x19 = .001416 6x18 = .001526 (400% larger than stock) - Seem to be teh ticket for twin VE engines 5x20 = .001570 (josh ayers custom p-pump inj) 6x20 = .001884 (500% larger than stock) 5x22 = .001900 5x24 = .002261 6x22 = .002280 (600% larger than stock) |
so I'm thinking 185's and 190's would be really good for fuel millage with propane.
and I'm going to try the 230's and 300's for performance with no fuel pump upgrades with propane, I'll just mess with TDC and cam to get a really good firing position. what I'm trying to accomplish is , give a really good upgrade kit for economy and something for the guys who just want to pull without having to have a whole lot of other upgrades, and worry about the them hurting or heating up their engine. the other reason why I'm asking is to see if this has been done before and to see if I'm just wasting my time. thank for the input |
I dont think teh words performance and 230's or 300's should go in teh same sentence. :D
Performnce screams 6x16's |
