Loss of power, and died.....the 93.......
 

so.......after fixing the front crossmember in the 93 my brother was using it to haul some stuff to and from orlando, the truck kinda lost power coming back (im a little mad about this cause he didnt bother to do anything about it and kept driving it all day and the next day) well the next day he was hauling a racecar back to the raceshop and as he was exiting the freeway, the truck died, and wouldnt restart, it wanted too but just couldnt do it......so they had to tow it a couple miles to the house.......im HOPING its just the fuel filter from where the previous owner let it set so much and we've only run a few tanks of diesel through it so far, so im hoping it just washed all of the junk out of the tank, i told him fill the new filter full of tranny fluid then put it on, crack the lines and try and start it......if that dont help, they are going to check the lift pump and see if its putting any fuel out......if its neither of those it looks like its to be joining the 90 at Diesel Specialists in Orlando for an injection pump rebuild........:pca1:

info I need

injectors? upgrades, stock, etc, etc.
fuel pump? have you done anything to the pump (upgrades)

It sounds as if the injectors got clogged, the pumps normally don't fail (as long as it is not tampered with) or could be the lines.

I doubt the injectors got clogged...your brother probably ran it to low of fuel and it's clogged the filter...tell him to pull the plug on the grid heaters and try to start it on ether/wd40...

Pumps fail all the time. The most common failure is fubared rotor return springs; that leads to an intermittent rough running, stalling and no-start.

Rollers also like to seize due to age/ varnish/ overheating, camplates like to chunk apart due to lack of lubrication/ overheating/ overrevving, heads/ rotors/ sleeves like to wear out and bypass fuel, timing pistons like to stick, AFC levers like to stick, sleeves can stick on the rotor due to varnish build up, et cetera.

hmmm, I have worked on cummins, mack caterpillar detroit, when it comes to mechanicle engines, they barlly fail, most pump that are out of bosch factory which is a very nice plant located in china, I visit them from time to time, also the cummins factory.

my point: most pumps as long as they are not tampered with bearly fail.

I'm not here to beat on my chest or pull out all my certifications, i was just giving my opinion, thanks for pointing out what could happen to a fuel pump.

Yeah but if we didnt like tampering with our pumps we would not be here. Pumps fail, even bone stock brand new ones. Not saying that is what happened or didn't happen but they are machines...
