Here you guys go: Turning up the pre 94 Ram diesel injector pump You can install one of these 3200 RPM gov spring: Den - Dodge CTD 1st Gen - VE Governor Spring Install Here are a few exhaust housing for ya, they also make 16 cm wastegated too: PDR Diesel Performance: Turbo Housings On the gauges you should get a pyrometer for egt, fuel pressure gauge, if auto trans temp, and a boost for fun.

Not my truck.. but 4200rpm spring, pin, ground foot, power adjustments, timing as far was it will move without jumping a tooth, Delivery valves, EDM injectors, twins.. (and a 14mm pump in a million pieces. :argh:) I guess that's a start...

A 4200 spring takes away alot of low end power. And you gain nothing fro mthe extra RPM's except wear on the engine. The VE wont fill the bowl at those speeds to make any power up there. That being said I'm gonna try one this year on my pulling truck to get some extra wheel speed in 2nd w/o having to shift. Hopefull the sled will drag me back down into the power. We will see. Delivery valves are not needed to be modified in these trucks. and a 14mm pump DEFINATLY wont live very long with a 4200 spring. It will burn itself up. Also you need some kinda fuel system in there and a clutch to hold it.

Cino whta are your ultimate goals for the truck

JDGnut 02-06-2009 08:39 PM

Yes.. I don't think it will actually get to 4200.. (that's the down fall of a single piston pump.. too many strokes not enough time.) It is a pulling truck... EEP Dual Disk.. FASS... NV4500.. HTT 64/14 over B2... There are a hand full of different DV's out there.. (not saying they need to be changed.. but we up graded.. and machined the upgraded ones.) The 14mm only last about 2 miles.. we could have P-pumped it for what we had in the pump.. not sure who as at fault on the pump.. but not pointing fingers.. could have been too tight of tollarances on the pump.. or the shop that put it together. We had the screws set close to stock, and it wasn't over 2800rpms.. I really wish it would have lived..
The truck wasn't hooked one time last yr.. should have the P-pumped engine together this spring.

At Houston, before we got the blocks in stalled.. and before the weight bracket..

JDG, Good to see Cody's old rig is still tearing it up!:choochoo:

JDGnut 02-07-2009 10:46 AM

Thanks.. Well.. I can't say its been tearing anything up in the last year... He was really gearing up to pull with the TTTPA guys last year until they put the 2.6 limit on the class.. and decided he didn't want to pull the twins off.. (I also moved so the shop was moved too, and the truck went back home.) The TTTPA guys have gone to a 2.8 class.. but he still hasn't decided to run in that class or keep it a twined truck.. I'd like him to run for points.. but I'm also hot to build another set of twins.. Hope to hook it a few times before DeLeon..
Bryan

We have been really lucky and haven't broke many parts.. (lost an oil return line when we got 1st in Stephenville over a yr ago and a few other little things) but he's been easy on it... We will start breaking parts when the new engine is in espeically if we go with the twins... :c:

Cinco 02-07-2009 11:26 PM

i want to make it a hot-rod but i still want it to pull half diesent :U:

RSWORDS 02-08-2009 08:47 AM

Turbo compressor upgrade, more fuel from the pump fuel pin like the DennyT stage II. then if it gets to hot towing install a Valet switch. You really need gauges though.

Cinco 02-08-2009 11:23 PM

Where can I get these things and about how much $ do they cost.
Oh and should I worry about my egzaust getting too hot or any thing going wrong with what I have done for naw.:yeah:

JDGnut 02-09-2009 02:38 PM

Gillet has the turbo upgrades..
Parts & Services offered for 1988-1993 5.9L Dodge / Cummins Diesels

You can also try HTT.. they used to have them... (I haven't checked in a while.) I just bought a Edge turbo from them.. but haven't had a chance to get it installed..
