24 valve in 1st generation?
How hard would it be to put a 24 Valve in a 1st gen truck?
|
Alright Which 24 Valve are you wanting to put in?
I assume a VP44 cause you just said 24 Valve. The biggest problem when doing swaps is the Wiring getting everything to work together. I personaly don't know of any VP44 swaps But Diesel Power Mag had feature on a 1st Gen. with a CR conversion. If you was to do a CR conversion which is the better motor. Due to Stronger block better head and not worrying about burning out VP44s or the dreaded 53 block. Painless makes a wiring kit just for a CR conversions making it really easy to do and it would be your best decision Unless you was going to do a conversion in a Conversion and say P Pump a 24V which then would make the wiring a lot easier. :U: I hope this helps out I stay subscribed to see if I can help out some more. :c: |
I was thinkin CR proboly I sould have specified more.

it can be done but as said above big wiring headace................a 12 valver will need one hot wire to the fuel solinoid and yer done

Have fun

12v... more power, easier to do. But if you have a little bit of knowledge you can swap in anything you want! Give Painless a call and talk to them about wiring options.

Before my last trip to Iraq I was seriously considering buying this truck but the guy wouldn't budge on the price. It had an '04.5 CR motor in it:rocking:

I'd rather have a common rail than a P-pump. Tuneability, cleanliness, efficiency, et cetera...
Now, a common rail connected to a P-pump would be entirely badass. |
