anyone know where to oreder a speedo cable
I am striking out everywhere. 93 dually getrag speedo cable.
please save me a 150 mile trip to have one custom made. checked all wrecking yards already. Thx |
You must've tried the dealer, though it's funny they can't get you one. I searched LMC Truck and they don't have one either. Looking like your going to have one custom made. If I may, where all did you check??

Stealer-Ship has them. I've ordered them before.

You're not finding it because it doesn't exist, your truck has an electronic speedometer with a sending unit mounted on the transfer case. AFAIK, only the 89's are cable drive.

Its 2 wd and has a place for the cable to screw on. I didnt think about pulling head unit and checking it. Maybe this thing has a donor trans in it. I will pull the dash and see whats up. |

That would be the place for the vss to go. In diesels only the 89 had the cable driven speedo and it went to 85 mph. It also had 5 digit odometer. Back to zero after 99,999. The 90 and up ones had the 6th digit odometer and a higher speed dial.:pca1: |
SO ITS ALL FIGURED OUT. The vss was a screw on unit. every time we pulled one out for a 93 it was a press in vss. looked up for a 92 and wala problem fixed. Now all i have to do is caslibrate it. It reads 90 mph when i am going 50. errrrrr.:argh:
