Tachometer Wiring
Hey everyone Im looking for some wiring help. I picked up an Autometer 2888 which uses the alternator pickup . I was wondering if there is a way to wire it to my factory tach plug for a bit cleaner install. The gauge has two wires that lead to the probe but factory plug has only one signal wire from pcm. Not sure if there is a way to make this work ? I know isspro makes a plug and play set up but the Autometer came into my possession for cheap . Im just missing the probe.

I'm running an isspro off the tach harness. I set the dip switches for 2-pulse and seems to read about right. Only downside is its quite fluttery.

You can also tap the alternator directly:
There's one of the probes from Dakota digital that fits in the stock adapter plate and reads flywheel teeth. You have to ensure your tach can be tuned for that many pulses... |
