No Start Issue. Need help.

I recently picked up a 1990 D350 CTD for cheap. Shows 172,000 miles on the clock. She cranks just fine, but won't start. Wiring is all screwed. Previous owner said it has sat for a few years. Stated it needs a new injection pump, which I am starting to believe. I crack the bleed screw, and solid fuel flow comes out. I cracked the injector lines and have a little bit of fuel spray, not as much as I'd expect. So that leads me to believe that something inside the injection pump is bad and it isn't providing enough pressure to pop the injectors. Definitely isn't getting fuel into the cylinder. She stated it would start with ether. I'm about to just bite the bullet and buy a new pump, but want to make sure I've covered all my cheaper bases first. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Seems odd for it to appear to have good fuel delivery and no sign of starting.

Have you tried plugging it in to see if the extra heat helps it fire?

I would have the IP and injectors bench tested before committing to a replacement IP.

I would check the fuel solenoid as well, may not be opening properly or is plugged

Have you checked the condition of the fuel solenoid?

Oops, computer is playing up, did not appear first post had actually posted

Pulled the solenoid off, and the plunger was broke off down in there. Took it out, bled the lines, and it started like nothing ever happened. Sat for like 6 years I believe. Only paid $1000 for it.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix
