Clark 5 speed mated to 89 12v
 
Okay guys I have a 1989 12v I have swapped into my 1992 f250. I bought a clark 5 speed off of craigslist, it was a steal so I had to get it. I have done alot of research on the trans, from what I understand they are very tough transmissions. I need to know what bellhousing is needed to mate the two. I have a bellhousing that came with the trans but it's for a ford FE engine if that helps. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sorry cannot help you with this.
Note that this section is Dodge 1st gen so a lot of people will not have run into this transmission.
You may have more luck with a site dedicated to swaps.
Did the Clark ever come with an SAE housing?, Cummins in Ford trucks use SAE housings.

There are a ton of different clark 5 speeds out there and I doubt they all have the same bolt pattern and input shaft set up. I can tell you that I have a clark 265v59 mated to a rotary pump 6bt using the first gen getrag bellhousing, flywheel and flywheel housing. So it is possible, but you've got some measuring and research to do. On mine I had to enlarge the center hole in the bellhousing and re drill the two lower trans to bellhousing bolt holes in the bellhousing, then it bolted up. The cluch was another challenge, as the input is 1 3/8" which happend to be the same as the later NV5600's but the pilot bearing is a different size. I ended up making a pilot bushing. :rocking:
