idle with blue haze
 

My 1989 first gen, auto, 2wd,I cant get it to stop idling without a blue haze. I have new oil,oil filter,fuel filter,fuel pump,and injections pump all brand new and rebuild and it still runs with a blue haze idling. The truck barely has any blow by. Could it be the stock injectors, they have never been out of the engine since the factory in 1989, i even run additive and it doesn't clear up either.

Does it do it less when warmed up?

Valve seals are often the culprit for blue puff/haze on gas engines I've had in the past. Possible the turbo is losing oil into the exhaust?

When it's warmed up it is like a clear smoke not blue anymore

sounds like valve seals, they expand when warmed up. causing a cold oil leak
Kinda like a cold water leak in a cooling system

Injectors need help, bad. Have the injectors gone through. Then if it still does it, pull the wire off the KSB solenoid. See if it does it then. What is the ambient air temp when it does this? I believe you have 1) injector not closing, which dribbles fuel...or terrible pattern and atomization. 2) the temp sensor in the intake took a crap and is firing your KSB solenoid, advancing your timing all the time.

I always got a light blue haze for a very short amount of time when it was really cold. It hasn't been cold since I did a lot of fuel system work.

Have you ever put a timing gauge in the IP and see where its really timed at? Or are you just guessing?
