1989 gen fuel pin
have a 1989 auto tranny 2wd first gen and have had a couple big shot diesel guys tell me I can complete take the fuel pin out and not have to run one has anyone took there pin all the way out.
|
I guess you could if you wanted to just blow smoke everywhere and run like crap..just remember some of the bigshot diesel guys call themselves that but drive around with leaking trucks and blowing excess smoke.. That is a dead give away of there knowledge!!:c:

that's what I was thinking

Take the stock fuel pin, grab your dremel and grind down the deep side. Made a huge difference on my truck when I did it. Here is a thread that might help you. Fuel pin grind profile - Dodge Diesel - Diesel Truck Resource Forums

A stock pin is hard to replace, I don't recommend grinding on it. Sacrifice an aftermarket one or make your own from a steel pin.

When I ran my ground pin I ground out the deep side. If I needed less fuel for some reason I just turned to the shallow side and it drove smokeless. It is a great cheap upgrade and with my ground pin vs my custom pin that is deeper than a stock pin can be. And the only performance difference it gives me is low end smoke control. I also only get the same boost with a stock ground vs my other deeper pin.

The pin puts in the correct amount of fuel for a throttle setting, I don't know if it would run at all.

idk either
