hey i am looking at a 1990 first gen for sale it has 91,000 miles on it with a beat up body. A woman ownes it and says it ran fine until the fuel injection pump went out and she wants to sale it for 2000 dollars can anyone tell me what they think about this deal

 

Depends on a lot, and I'm not sure what "out" exactly entails but you could replace seals and springs for a couple hundred bucks or go with a "replacement" pump anywhere around $600-$1000+. So assuming that's all that's wrong with it then its a good deal IMO. You can always fix/replace sheet metal rather easily if you have the time and $$$.

 

yes the pumps are easy to do once a person gets into it.. norm. the cam springs break. even if there not there only like 40 bucks for updated ones... where in calif. are you? im close to sacramento if you need help with it..

if the front seal is cracked it is putting diesel in the oil.. if you decide to get it and need it hauled let me know also.. I live in granite bay and am always in Roseville rocklin ,citrus height area.
