Default More power

Got a 1990 cummins d250 5spd 4 wheel drive got a bd diesel fuel pin gov spring in it now just wondering how to get some more power out of it I tow a 8500lbs 5th wheel trailer just looking to get up mountain passes better I know I need a intercooler to start. If u guys can be of help thanks a lot

Turning up the fuel also turns up the EGT. The 1st thing you need to do is get gauges if you don't already. Towing is a different world than street roding. Keeping EGT under control is everything. Airflow and cooling takes priority. Intercooler, larger exhaust, oversized turbo, BHAF, and water/meth injection are the best plan here. Ditch the BD fuel pin, they deliver too much fuel too soon. That equals higher EGT. The stock pin or the M&H M2 will work better at keeping the temperature down.
