Exhaust

I have a 5 inch stack off a peterbilt that I am goin to use as my exhaust tip and I was wondering if its better to attack it to the stock exhaust on there or redo the whole exhaust with 4 inch

I don't like doing things that are only cosmetic in nature so I'll refrain from commenting on the burning barrel exhaust tip.
As for the exhaust system, unless your stock system is history I'd leave it alone. A 4" exhaust system will not do much for you until you start pushing the fuel way up.

Thanks man. I'm just trying to get a feel for what I should do for my truck now that I fixes my essentials like leaks and stuff.

Before you start upgrading, you need to decide what you are going to use the truck for. Street performance, competition performance, and work performance require different approaches.
If you don't have them already, get gauges before you start anything. Boost, Pyro (EGT), and a trans temp. And keep a record of what you did and the result. Do 1 change at a time. Trust me, it will save you a lot of trouble undoing a change you weren't happy with.

I saw those 3in1 gauges on glo shift and was consider trying them out. 1 reason because its hard to find a good setup for a first gen and 2 because it seems like a good deal.,do you know anything about them ?

And as for what my goal is I just want my truck to be quick off the start if I throttle it and keep the reliability of the beautiful first gens.

I bought one for my 92 and never installed it. Sold it and bought some Auto Meter Phantom series gauges instead. Heard too many bads about the GloShift to want to take the chance. The biggest complaint was being able to read it during the day. Second was a number of reported failures.

How did you mount your gauges? Trying to find a good looking setup

Sorry for the not so great picture, but this is how I mounted them in my 92. My 91 is similar less a trans temp gauge. I put it were the ash tray was. Handy to have all the power and light wires right there.
