looking at a 93 one ton 2wd

hey guys its been along time since iv logged on iv found a 93 one ton two wheel drive cab and a half with a flat bed its a five speed with a 19000 miles the guy is asking 1500 and i just had a few questions
1. how good is the transmission (my 89 had the 727 and it lacked in connecting power to the ground)
2. what kind of fuel economy will this thing get
3. is it worth the money
4. being two wheel drive how would it do in snow and ice
5. can this thing be made to be a daily drive without sucking all the money out of my wallet
as far as i can tell its never been turned up he said its been used as a farm truck pulling anhydrous and auger carts and maybe had a thousand miles put on it in the past 6 years

that trans would be a getrag 5 speed there a pretty good transmission. people say that they aren't rated for much power but i was throwing about 375 out of my 93 w350 4x4 and it took it fine. mine was a single cab long bed with leveling kit and 35x12.50 mud tires and i was getting 18 around town and about 22 on the highway. It probably wont be to bad in the snow with some decent tires and a little weight. the issue with mine was spinning out because of the torque. And as far as the money to make it a daily driver all depends on what kinda shape its in right now.

19,000 OR 190,000 miles

1st All of people over fill the trans on those trucks about 1 qt. over to help them last.
2nd What Olsmokey said about fuel mileage is about right for most people. All in driving habits.
3rd It is worth the money if it's not a rust bucket
4th Have heard the 2wd's are not fun in the snow and ice (no experience myself I have a 4wd)
5th And Yes it can be made a nice daily driver for pretty cheap.

My 93 cummins is my daily driver with a five speed and if I stay out of the turbo and just drive it I get 24 Mpg with it and it has 300,000 miles on it runs like its new. 18Mpg when I am pulling loads.

If it only has 19,000 I would jump on it for the price. If it has 190,000, I would drag it home for the price.
