Replacing Lift Blocks

Hey all....

Workin through gettin this ol' girl on the road, and now that I am into the mechanical, first thing is first.... lift blocks are coming out. :icon_toliet: Someone put them in back when it was still cool I guess. They did a good job, they are welded and pinned vertically, but im not taking my chance when I am towing.

That being said, I have been looking at putting in skyjacker (or equivalent??) lift springs. My goal is to get a set that will match the current front end lift so that I dont need new shocks, steering column, etc.... and it will keep it level with the rear. I took some shots of what is installed now, but Im not sure what is part of the axle and what is added. My overall height from the ROUND part of the axle to the bottom leaf is 4 inches, but it looks like 2 inches of that are part of the axle itself. The axle is a DANA-60 and the frame is 250/350 Diesel. (1993)
Is it just the 2 inch blocks that are added??? At the end of the day, I just would like to figure out what amount of lift to buy when purchasing the lift springs so that it comes out the same as it is now.
Here are the links to pictures... thanks! :

Skyjacker does lift blocks on thier lifts if I remember correctly. I am in sorta the same boat least till I build the double triangulated 4 link system front n rear for my build but till then i want to lift 6-8 inches skyjacker uses rear blocks wanna say they were 6 inch blocks.....however i have heard deavers will make a set of leafs but it wont be cheap....my plan is to run skyjacker front leafs lines an arm for steering rest will be sourced from other things like coil over shocks from FOA an leafs probably from deavers unless i can find some already done or somewhere local an cheaper hope this has helped in some way an best of luck to ya on your truck mods:c:

Hey thanks. My issue is that the blocks are on the FRONT axle... accident waiting to happen... I already have a 2 bar system on the rear... but need the hieght on the front... Im worried about lift springs sagging... I can get the 2" springs for 440 with bushings... not sure if I want to risk the sag though...

what about doing air bags on it like on a 2nd gen or 3rd gen air ride setup?
