Drove around at the dragstrip, a 1/4th mile at a time? Or, at the pulls, 300' at a time?

Or simply a daily-driver / play truck?

- There are a number of turbochargers based on the 400 frame.
- IMO, the M5 fuel pin is a smokey proposition. Go M3.

What is your power goal (how much money do you have to spend on the thing)?

- Spend your money wisely . . . . . once.

A reliable and cool (EGT wise) 400+ hp costs more than 350hp.

Does your truck have an intercooler?

I dont have a answer for the fuel pin... but as for the trans yes it will hold up if its build... I did a 89 chevy suburban conv. i have the th400 i tow a 12000 lb toyhauler loaded and it holds up great. if the trans is stock it wont. i do my own trans work. i did 7 forward clutchs 7 direct and 4 interm. use 4l80 direct drum for the direct that way you can have the 34 elm. sprag. deep pan is a must. and a big cooler. patc trans parts has the kits to help you stack up more clutches! use a 4l80 band and anchor pin. dual feel the direct drum and your golden.....patc for parts and jakeshoes also has a write up on dual feeding a th400..
