Pyro gauge probe infront of the turbo

Default Pyro gauge probe infront of the turbo

i put it in front of the turbo because it was easier and had thinner pipe , how should i read my gauge ? , i know it should be safe anywhere under the 14 mark ?

I wouldnt run it over 1200 if I didnt have to at least not for very long.

i drove around town for about an hour and it stayed around 4 - 500 degrees , is that to low ?

where exactly did you mount it?
how about a pic, it would help to know how much of a temp difference you can be seeing

yea ill post one tonight sometime , the probe is mounted on the pipe that goes from the turbo

driving around town should be around 500-600 thats with it on the exhaust manifold. Im not sure why you decided to just do it in front of the turbo it only took me and my friend 10 minutes to drill and tap a hole on the manifold.. Not bad as long as you have the right bits. But you did what you did, also what kind of guage do you have?

i didnt put it on the manifold cuz a shop i talked to convinced me not to incase it broke when drilling , it would cost a lot more than the piipe off the turbo , and it is an autometer

Autometer are good to decent guages it may have a variation in EGTs from the more expensive ones, my friends glowshift read 400-500 in town on his first gen. My truck with the westach gauges read around 500-600* in town and 700 on the highway. I have a 24 valve though. I was gonna poke fun at ya for not having the guts not to drill in the manifold but thats comming from a guy who cant decide if he has enough to drill 15 into his roof for cab lights . Just dont stay at the 1400* mark and you will be ok, you can hit that mark but dont stay at it thats when the heat will build help in the metal and start melting expensive parts.

haha m if i did break crack the manifold i wouldnt have enough $ to fix it right now , i have not gotten the gauge over 600 , think that is okay ? , i dont have to worry about the egts being low do i ? , maybe they are a couple hundred degrees lower than it being on the manifold
