Get rid of blocks
3 Attachment(s)
I have an 89 1st gen cummins with an 8inch suspension lift, im looking to get rid of the blocks. Is this possible to keep roughly the same height, maybe a little shorter? If so, who makes the kit? Thanks

I think what you would have to do is measure the block, and order a lift spring with that much extra lift. The perch on the axle already has the hole for the center pin so that shouldn't change, the spring should sit right on the existing perch without the block.

Here's one company that I know of that make pretty much whatever you can think of. Carrier spring makes stuff for heavy duty trucks, so I think they would be reputable.
Custom Suspension |
Deaver out in California makes all kinds of custom leaf springs made to order, shipped to your door.

Thanks guys, I'm looking at the carrier springs now. I currently have an 8inch lift with 37inch tires thinking about trying to drop down to a 6inch leaf spring lift with same tires. opinions?

Yep. Go for a progressive rate to smooth out the ride around town

Any idea what the smallest lift i could tuck 37's under? I'm reading from 4 inch lift to needing the 8 inch to fit them depending on the websites. I'm torn I love the look of it lifted up high but being in the military I need it somewhat usable for moving my stuff around all the time.

Dunno what kinda lift you need for those old dogs like yours. My 08 would clear 37's with a 3-4 inch lift, I suspect the new 12 will be the same. 37's are big for street use...
