truck shakes when ideling

Smile truck shakes when ideling

im new to this forum and I just got my truck, its a 1992 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive 5 speed. when its ideling or when you let out of the throttle the whole cab shakes, I don't know if there is a motor mount broke or trans mount, but as soon as you give it throttle it leaves. any info will help. thanks

check all your mounts, thats where my money is.

You might also want to chech your idle rpm. If its set to low your truck will shake pretty bad, shudder and almost stall when you take off.

Motor and tranny mounts is a first thought also could be fuel filter primary and or secondary. Keep us updated.

thanks for all the replies, I haven't had time to check on it but i will soon. also the steering is VERY loose and I have tracked it to the bottom of the steering shaft that connects to the gear box. it is warn out on the inside, I don't know if I should find a shaft in a scrap yard, or buy a borgeson, or there is a rebuild kit on rock auto, im 16 and on a limited budget so any info will help on this subject also.

Hell I'm 29 and on a limited budget, or else my steering would be better. I noticed I swerve a little in the wifes car since I'm used to the trucks sloppy steering.

hahahahahahaha save up and buy a new one boy. i think most of us are on a limited budget, we just spend the budget we have on our grease smashers.

The typical old Dodge pickup is not steered. It is guided. Get a Borgeson and start steering.
