Electrical headaches.

changed the cab on my 91 and now have a lot of electrical issues:

Turning the lights on causes both turn signal indicators on the dash to light up, they function normally with the signals though.

Dash lights do not work.

The headlights don't work. Daytime running lights work.

Flashing the high beams causes the wipers to come on, as if the window washer was pressed, but the washer pump doesn't come on. Pressing the washer causes the wipers and pump to activate normally.

When i turn the fan on the headlights come on, with 3 different levels of dimness to choose from. The fan does not function at all.

What did I do wrong and how do I start fixing it? Wiring is not something I am very good at.

I inspected the harness thinking it might have been damaged, but it looks ok, though I didn't pull it all apart. Everything only plugs into one spot so I don't think I could have anything plugged in wrong.

After finding a ground not hooked up most problems are fixed, still have no dash lights other that the turn signal indicators that come on with the light switch. And the high beam indicator only works with the headlights off.

Guess I'll go look for more missing grounds.

Damn, I feel ya, could be a ton of things with a swap like that! I gotta figure out the best way to clean up all my wiring! :D

Problem was ground wires, one under the hood that attaches to the cab and one that attaches to the dash. Feel kinda dumb for not figuring it out sooner. Seems crazy that 2 missing grounds could cause things to go so weird.

Oh, I had my neg ground get off the post and my alternator fried some fuses and two brand new Silverstar Headlight that cost $50.:bat:
