If it's a new to you truck I would run a can of BG 244 Cleaner through it to clean off the injectors right off the bat. BG Company

As to putting additive in your tank when you fill up, you just fell in to the snake pit! You have guys that run 2 stroke oil and guys that run Brand X because it's the best, guys that say you don't need a darned thing. There is a study out that covers a few of the products but it is suspect because of who sponsored it.

If you live in a cold climate you can not loose running something with an anti-gel to it.

I run Schaeffer Oil | Diesel Treat 2000 Fuel Additive in the spring/summer and Schaeffer Oil | Diesel Treat 2000 Winter Fuel Additive in the fall/winter to stop gelling. You can get it on ebay or at Buy1oils Schaeffer Oil | Buy Schaeffer Oil | 360-336-2319

Hope this helps!
