Is bigger better? 3" - 4" - 5"

I'm currently running straight 3" pipe the opening on the turbo is 3" if I go to 4-5" is there a significant improvement in egt's and lessor back pressure? Does anyone make an adaptive 3 --> 4" or 5" down-pipe? I think I asked this question a year or two back but didn't see it and wanted to make sure before I spent money I knew for sure it would be a wise choice.

I'm getting crap mileage and power so I am starting to look at what I can do to improve my truck's performance. Thanks

There is a 4 inch down readily available and a whole 4 inch exhaust at that available, and I hear it helps the EGT's considerably.:rocking:

At least that's what I hear about the EGT's going down with a 4 inch system.

Egt's should drop about 200*.

Look on TVdiesels website full 4" exhaust for 267 dollars with free shipping great product too.

The biggest downfall is that this is a transplant into an '89 Chevy is this a kit that will allow multiple configurations or for a stock truck? I never know what to order because the motor/chassis aren't a match pair if that makes sense. Good Price for sure.

Your best bet is take the current exhaust off take it to a muffler shop n get em to bend up a system the same as the one you took off. Then get the v-band flange off the old exhaust put onto the new kit with a reducer from 4-3". 5" sounds good but get pricey n you gotta find somewhere who can actually bent it plus 4" is good till like 500hp soo.
