47RE test ports/temp gauge question

Got my Isspro's, and my trans hot line doesn't have the T fitting to screw the sensor into. From my homework here I've found that most people cut the hard line and instal the fitting, or buy a new line with it already there. I reeeeally do not want to do either of these if I don't have to. I've also read that you don't want to instal the fitting in the soft line either, which I wouldn't mind so much but not if it will cause a problem. There are three plugs that I can see in this picture, on the passenger side of the trans just above the pan. Is there any reason why I can't use one of these for the sensor?

The edge cts says to put it in the back one.

I see a lot of people do it in the hot line coming from the trans... But I agree with you, i dont think i'd wanna do that :nope:

I've done both when doing gauges on customer trucks BUT going into a case plug makes the gauge slower to respond compared to being directly in the flow and if your cooler plugs I doubt it will respond fast enough for you to save your trans but then again by that point youre basically shafted anyway. Both work tho

Is there even fluid that high up in the trans? I mean, that's several inches higher than the top of the pan.

Have a look at this:

That appears to be the first circled one from the left in my picture above. I assumed by "the back one" that was the one everyone has been talking about?
