Transmission fun
Well i just picked up a 94 Dodge 2500 regular cab 2wd auto with a 5.9, 330k on it. I have all the service recorecords on it from 110k till now. Got it for 800 bucks because the headgasket is leaking coolant out between the block and head below the t-stat housing and my work didn't wanna put the money in it to fix it. Well when i take off from a stop sometimes theres a slight shudder and/or lag to start moving and when your on the throttle maybe 3/4 to WOT it'll hang at redline for a second or two between shifts and i was wondering what anyones thoughts are. I'm going to change out fluid and adjust bands soon. I know that the trans had a shift kit installed and I was wondering if a hole wasn't drilled out big enough if that could cause this issue.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- No one? I'm not familliar with these transmissions at all. Ive always been a ford guy and all of the autos ive had where C6/E4OD/4R100 and all my rangers where manuals. |
dumb question and im sure u did but hows the fluid level? i just bought my 94 cheap cuz the guy thought the trans was having problems but was just low on fluid. atf=4 btw

Yes its full. I bought the truck from the company I work for, it was my shop truck for a year and a half. I've done all the maintenance on it. Did a lot to it to bring it back up to snuff. Got a tailgate, rebuilt front end and steering shaft, and bunch of other stuff because i knew i was gonna buy it when it became available.
