1996 fender replacement

I discovered that the inner fender liner is tack welded to the fender. what a pain. I am going to buy new liners I think. Can't I use some panel bond adhesive and a few nuts and bolts to fasten the two together. I see no reason it shouldn't work. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much for you help.:humm:

I forgot to add, that I would think welding would be best, but I don't have a welder, just one of the things on my list. Lot of rust on the old liner, so thought I would replace them also. 96 cummins.

If you can find a rust free original from a southern parts dealer it will already have the inner and will probably be a better quality fender than an aftermarket. :c:

Thanks, I already bought the fenders and I tried the drivers side. It doesn' fit bad and hopefully I can get it better. I think I will try bolting and panel adhesive if I can. I bought a tack weld removal tool and it worked on the old one, but the rust made me decide to order the fender well liner.

If not I'm sure you can find someone to tack it together for a few bucks. :c:

thanks, I think the concern may be that the fenderwell supports a lot of stuff on the inside, battery and a lot of electrical. So I need to make sure it secured enough.
