BLOWBY ?

My truck has a lot of blowby but in a months time and 1,000 it barley went threw a 1/4 of a quart and it runs good most of that it leaked so should I not worry about the blowby or is it something to worry about it also has 272,000 miles.

You do a blowby test yet or are you just eyeballing the tube?

What do u mean alot comes out of the tube and if I take the filler cap of there is alot of bowby but if u are talking about sitting the cap on without tighting it I have done that and it doesent blow it off at all just alot of haze.

Basically hooking a flow meter up to the crank case vent, it's more a less a pass/fail test and no set "specification" just what one manufacturer deems excessive to the next. Put an updated crankcase vent kit with the catch bottle and don't worry about it, if it were excessive it'd push the dipstick out even with the vent flowing freely.

Where can I get the updated crankcase vent kit from?

It's a Cummins test, and you can the parts for the kit through Cummins, or put your own together.
