Rear main seal
 
I believe it started leaking awhile ago. But it's getting alil more under coat on my truck. But my question is can u change th rear main seal without dropping the pan or is it a full on take motor out and apart.

Ok thanks. Next question is if it were leaking outta the rear main would there be oil all over my fly wheel or could it possibly leak between the engine and adapter plate

When i did the rear main on my 96 it was hard to tell where it was coimng from it was pretty bad but i would bet it would be between the engine and adapter plate.

x2 there was a post awhile ago where a guy thought his rear main shit out on him and turns out it was the back valve cover.

The valve covers tend to leak quite a bit on these motors. Id check that first too! it would save you a TON of work :tu:
