help.....engine removal..

I have been playing w the engine trying to take it out i tool the motor mounts off like a guy told be he said should slide rite out???? By the look of it the :humm:valve covers hit the top and the oil pan just come to the top of the frame but at that point the engine so wedged I can't move it? Does the oil pan and bell housing off the back gotta come off too??

you should be able to wedge it out, it has to tilt alot though. You can take off rocker covers, rockers and push tubes and thatll give you the room you need.

I'm just doing head gasket... is it worth all the trouble getting the whole engine out to just do a gasket

no not at all, the head gasket can easily be done with the engine in the truck. you have to remove the cowl and the body plugs to fish out the rear 2 cylinders rocker head bolts and pushtubes but thats no problem compared to pulling the entire engine.

^ I agree, pulling it out is alot of work just for a hg.
