injector thoughts please
 

I have a 94 250 dodge with stock fuel plate moved forward, after market air filter, 4 inch thru exhaust. double disc torque converter.
I am looking at some stock bosch 230 injectors out of a motor home application. Anyone have any opinions as to whether this will wake up this motor some or will I be disapointed.
For the record i have never had any heat issues the way I am set up now my probe is located on my down tube cast piece....

4k gov springs should be your first moddification. absolute best bang for the buck. IMO
230's arnt gonna do much of anything, look at some 12's or 14's after the gov springs!

stock 2nd GEN injectors - vary depending on model but all are 145° injectors

49 state 160/175 hp - 5x9 .000318
180 hp- 5x9.5 .000354
160 hp cpl 1863, (actually a 180)- 5x9.5 .000354
all California trucks '96-98 were 180 hp- 5x9.5 .000354
215 hp - 5x10.25 .01025 .000412
300's and 330's same size - 4x12 = .000452
370's 155° - 5x12 = .000565
435's - avail in both 155° and 145° spray pattern 5x014 = .000769

Just how will the gov spring help?
I seem to get quite a bit of top end Does the spring allow the for fast fueling to help spool up my turbo faster?
I hate going around a corner slowing down and then almost standing on it to get the turbo to spool up.
I was interested in the injectors because for 150 dollars I thought they will help My truck is the auto matic and specs show it to be 160 horse I figured these are 230 horse

dont ever go by hp on injectors its what they can produce not what they will. and your truck is starting to defuel around 2200 rpms with 3k its like 2800 and with 4k's somwhere in the 3's mine is about 3600. so if your engine fuels harder and longer and get lets say 1/3 more rpms then it is going to, in my book and butt dyno have about 1/3 more HP. there is a huge difference in power. if you went and stuck brand new shinny 5x.014 injectors in it. it would just smoke more you would notice VERY little. maybe just enough to piss you off.

Governor springs are the best bang for the buck. Grind the plate to a 100 and do afc mods, free just some time. Some will disagree about doing it but racking the barrels makes a decent power increase. This is what I did in that order and then added timing. All this can be done for under 100 dollars if you do the work yourself and makes a really nice driver.

All this can be done if you do alot of reading on these diesel sights.
