Default GOVERNOR SPRINGS INSTALLED, 2 QUESTION

I installed my 4k governor springs this past Monday. I installed the retaining screw back to the same height as measured before removal (at least as close as I could get it to the original measurement, original measurements were .057 & .049, installed back @ .059 & .052, that's as close as I could get it). I took it for a spin (after adjusting the idle down to around 800 on the factory tach). It climbs to 3k very quickly, maybe too quickly (it's a 2wd 5spd). Herein lies my 2 questions: It runs good, doesn't miss, but from idle to WOT, I only need to push the pedal about 2", It's very touchy. I did a search, and from what I read I probably have the screws a little too tight???. Looking for reassurance that this is the most likely problem. If so, should I just back them off 1 click and try, or should I go 2 and try???.

The low idle adjustment is on the end of the pump (the end towards the rear of the engine). As stated before, it's a 10mm bolt, with a jam nut. You need to loosen the nut first, then adjust the bolt. It's the opposite of what you would expect, couter-clockwise raises the idle, clock-wise lowers the idle. I had to feel for it cause you can't see it. I went in between the lines coming off of the master cylinder.
