Control Arm Qs

I put a 6.5 inch lift from stock height on my cummins, It was a homemade lift and I am now working on making control arms but I dont know how much length to add to the stock length?

I cant take the truck apart and measure as I go because I need it basically daily and in a small town every one is closed on the weekends so I need to have it all prept before starting. If anyone would know or how to figure it out i would appreciate. As you can see from my pics with my 38s on I dont have much for turning radious. Thanks for any advice.

call up topguncustomz.com and ask them what the length of theres are and go from them if not they make a complete set a arms for like 250 bucks.

k thanks i never thought about that...Ya 250 is still a bit out if my price range...I am hoping to keep these under 50 buck. I enjoy figuring and working on my truck so time isnt a concern much. Thanks

Well if it helps i just measured my control arms for a 6 inch on my dodge and the lower arms measured 19 5/8 center of eyelets and the tops are 18 3/4 inch center of eyelets.

K, I measured my stock and roughly(doing it in the dark) the bottom is 18 1/4 and the tops 17 3/4. So I will just add the difference to my new ones...Thanks a lot that was basically what I needed to know. I will post pics once I get em finished up.

i measured mine from the center of the bolt holes. just so you dont get confused but make sure to build a drop bracket for your trac bar. it will throw your steering and alignment all of. if any other questions about the lifts let me know after doing mine i figured out a bunch of little nick nacs on doing them

Ya, I learned the hard way about the track bar...I actually built a 3rd gen style bracket and a track bar with bushings on both ends and exstended the bar to make is centered. I do have another question...my u joints on my front drive line hits on my front end when in 4 wheel drive because of the angle. What would be the best way to fix that?

How high does your dodge measure off the ground? Measuring from the wheel wells...I am trying to figure how much of a lift I have...I have 6.5 inches from stock hightower, I don't know if that translates to a lift. What size tires you have on?

man754 12-10-2011 09:52 AM

The spacers i put on my front end measure 6 inches with out the isolater. my tires are 36/15.5/16s i can fit 38 without any rubbing issues.the fenders measure 46 to 46.5 i cant really tell cuaes of the fender flares i put on

K...hopefully in a week or two I can get my 38s back on and I will measure. Thanks...did you have to build a drop bracket for your front end so your drive line doesn't hot?
