fuel plate

my choices a #8 fuel plate (230/605) or a #10 fuel plate (220/570) kill the tranny quicker then a stock one slid forwarded

reason is when i get the 3gsk in i want a little more passing power

what should i do?:argh: (what i use the truck for, is for daily driving with getting on it every once in a while. and i don't tow anything)

i am having a shop do the 3gsk and i am doing the fuel plate(how do industrial injection get the hp/tq numbers is that with the fuel plate slid forwarded)

and how much power is the stock one making since its slid forwarded

sorry for so many questions :w2:

All I can say for sure is that when my truck was all stock, a #6 plate started slipping the trans. Some people have had good luck with them, some not so much. The only way to know what will happen for sure is to try it out.

As far as where the numbers come from, I have no idea. I would like to think that they actually dyno test them, but that seems unlikely.

i would love to have more power, but the tranny won't like me neither would the wallet
:argh: maybe a 3gsk would help for passing because i de-fuel around 2,250 :w2:

Usually a transmission can barely hold the stock power output. If you upgrade the valve body, and TC it will help! I would say that is the bare minimum you would need tho

i told my grandma and she don't believe me about the tranny, i would like to have a 5speed manual in my truck but being my grandma drives my truck some times. so my 5speed is out of the question dang :argh::argh:

Question anyone<<<I have a #4 fuel plate that I inherited when I bought a 98 Dodge 12 valve. I already have a Banks twin ram intake and 4" exhaust. Tranny was supposed to be rebuilt with some shift mods and a better converter to allow for towing in overdrive without problems. Serviced it and its clean. My question is does anyone know what a #4 fuel plate is rated at or where I can find out?? Pumps never been open and I'm thinkin of tinkerin. Thanks

i have a number 5 fuel plate on a stock tranny and 4000 rpm springs had it over a month and with heavy pulling and a little bit of street racing no problems with tranny or turbo

BramanteCummins 12-04-2011 02:46 AM

just wait, the stock tranny fails reliably. just give it a bit of time. mine went faster than i had hoped even when turning trans pressures up

somkingcummins95 12-06-2011 07:01 PM

im hoping it will last another month i wont be driving it as much now but i have a shift kit to put in it

BramanteCummins 12-09-2011 01:03 PM

do the shift kit while its still ok, you cant reverse the damage done
