Default Couple of questions... mostly turbo related...

Ok, so now it's time...

I will strip my 95' and have most likely aquired my GMT800 back so i can swap my 12valve in it...

I will be building my motor with top material, since the GMT800 will have a running LQ9 i can use that for tow purposes while i'm building my 12v...

So i have this HX52 lying around, and original intentions were to run the HX52 with the HX35, but i guess i'll just want to run the HX52 as a single, will the spool be idiotic or does this seem like a good option to you guys ?

(The HX35 found it's place in my BMW 535i)

I guess i will use the stock sticks to begin with, Air Dog II 150, no fuel plate, timing will be set at 18° with studs.

will i be looking at some crazy EGTs ? or does it seem like something doable to use as a tow rig ?

the lag will get super old. BAD choice if you are doing ANY towing. if you had a god awful amount of fuel (which you dont) it would still take forever and a few days to light.

go smaller

from what i can find there are a few different sizes of wheels for that turbo. you need at least 58mm to flow any better than the hx35, there seems to be many different size turbine housings as well, most being 18cm. thats pretty big and laggy if you ask me. looks like you can bolt the hot side into a smaller hx40 housing to help spool times. overall similar to an hx35 can potentially move more air if it is set up right.

all that is i think info so no gerantees

ok, my HX35 is a 16cm.... and i seem to spool it pretty good as is....

so 18cm shouldn't be too laggy... i'm going for 4k GSK... should to the trick...right ?

have you modified your 35? factory they are 12cm housings. and its prolly gonna be noticably laggier than the 35

loose that big *** housing and put a 12cm on it. you dont have the fuel to run a bigger turbo efficiently. my guess is you will be pretty happy with the MUCH quicker spooling housing. give it a shot. its a cheap fast upgrade. you are experiencing lots more lag than we are down here wit hyou 16cm housing. and a biger one will make it worse. with your amount of fuel EGT will only marginally rise. go with the smaler housing till your have fuel to fun a big turbo or the cash to buy a good aftermarket smaller turbo.
