parts for 5spd conversion?
So i found a 98 v10 2500 that has caught fire, it had a 5spd, someone already got to that, but i want to get the rest of the manual conversion parts for cheap. I know that I need to get the pedal assembly, and hydraulics for the clutch, shifter boot and input shaft for the transfer case. What else do i need? Wiring? Does it need to be cut or is there a connection to take out the part i need? Are the drive lines the same? Is there anything that i am overlooking? I am going to get a southbend clutch kit so i dont think that i need flywheel, is starter the same for manual as auto? I know the v10 starter wont work, but was just wondering? Thanks for the help.

Dodge 5.9 Diesel 88-up auto trans rplmt
call them...they can answer all you questions. buddy used them and was very satisfied with there customer service.... although there a little pricey compared to piecing a kit together. |
ok, they helped i got the pedals, hydraulics and boot for $50. My new question is, which they dont know the answer to, is the gasser also had a 241 in it, but backed up to a nv3500, is it the same case that i need with the correct input shaft? or would it be different between the two trannys? Thanks for everyones responses.;

i believe...nut not 100% that the 241 behind a nv3500 has a 27 spline shaft not 100% on that. just going off memory...im only 27 but my memory blows. also they got them on ebay for $85ish if u end up having to buy one
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- the transfer case in that v10 is a nv4500... so the transfer case will have the right shaft. the 3.9l and very few 5.2l had the nv3500 |
so just a waste to buy it then, as i already have a case if the input needs to be changed, thanks for your help, anyone think that i should go get the crossmember? its only $20, but do you think the mount will be the same
