47RH wont shift into forward gears
My boss has a 96 cummins with the 47RH tranny and it will drop right into reverse but takes forever to shift into the forward gears. The colder it is, the longer it takes. Brand new valve body and fluid leve is fine. any ideas? appreciate the help

I dont know anything about auto's but im just gonna throw something out there and maybe it'll help. Have you adjusted the throttle cable?

you have a 47RE the rh was only from 94-95. was the truck doing this prior to the new valve body? i just had a similar issue with my 95 ended up being a messed up VB. and its not the TV cable that just messes with when it shifts. you can adjust the 2nd gear band from the driver side of the tranny 3/4 nut with a i think 5/16 center. crack the nut and finger tighten the bolt till you feel it bottom out on the band then back it off 3/4 of a turn and lock it down.
